Bibek Shrestha

Bibek Shrestha is an experienced environmental researcher from Nepal interested in aquatic environments at the interface of environmental change, and anthropogenic pressures from water resource development. With a Master of Environmental Science degree from the Yale School of the Environment, Bibek is currently studying greenhouse gas emissions from freshwater ecosystems in Nepal. His research experience spans river ecology, water quality assessment, environmental impact assessment of hydropower development in Nepal, and carbon dynamics in rivers and coastal environments. He is a co-founder of Sustainability and Environmental Studies Endeavor (SENSE), a non-profit organization working to promote environmental conservation and stewardship through research, education, and socio-environmental entrepreneurship as well as Wetlands for Nepal, a network of young researchers and conservationists working on wetland conservation and restoration research in Nepal.
